Scientists at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo found that EGCG from green tea inhibits the growth of cancer cells, reduces tumor size and eliminates tumors in rats, according to research published in the "Journal of Urology" in September 2003. The scientists implanted tumors in the rats and discovered that 64 percent of rats provided EGCG from green tea became free of the tumors.
